A few changes are (hopefully) going to take place this week for me. The first change is I will be getting up 30 min. earlier than usual this week. I know that does not seem like much, but I am a sleepaholic. I NEED my sleep. But more than that as a busy mom and wife, I need a little solace and quiet time each day, and the only way I am going to get that is by getting up just a little earlier, and starting my day before the kids start theirs.
The second thing is I am going to JUST RUN. No matter how I am feeling.
This morning I did both of these things. It was so nice to have my morning cup of coffee with my husband in the quiet minutes before the kids were up and the chaos of a school morning began. I also had plenty of time to get all of my running gear together and tell myself how much I DID NOT want to run today. But I did it. I packed up my gear, I went to the Y and I ran.
I was very pleased with my 3 mile treadmill run this morning. I had to hold myself and speed back. I ended up with a 29:53, 3 mile run. Just under a 10 min. mile. This makes me think that breaking that 30 min. 5K, like spring and warm weather, is just around the corner
